Meeting and Collaboration


The President of University of Basrah, Dr. Saad Shahin Hammadi, met with the director of the General Company for Ports of Iraq, Dr. Farhan Muhaisin Al-Fartousi, to discuss joint cooperation at various levels, with ports providing full support to the university according to the recommendations of the Minister of Transportation. UOB  aspire to cooperate with the ports of Iraq and the Maritime Transport Company through the Marine Science Center and to develop mechanisms to work on several projects, including operating the presidential yacht (Naseem Al-Basra) and maintaining its boats and the marina, as well as  presenting studies to the ports of Iraq on the construction of the dam on Shatt al-Arab and discussing all solutions.

A seminar entitled Improving water quality using some physical treatments hold at College of Science, Department of ecology. The Presenter Nada Ibrahim Sawad demonstrates the most important objectives of study to collect raw water samples from Shatt Al-Arab and water samples from the wastewater treatment plant at the University of Basra and expose them to some physical treatments under laboratory conditions and make changes in the conditions of the experiment to determine the best ones in the treatment process.
